On our Royal Caribbean cruise, when we got to Jamaica, we disembarked and took a cruise up into the countryside. This house, below, was built in the 1700's and was the residence for a large sugar plantation.
Look at the beautiful countryside. This was taken from the front yard of the home.
This plaque was by the tomb of Elizabeth Williams, the mistress of the home. She was buried beneath the house.
Look the the bottom right, where they lady is standing. THAT was the tomb where she was buried.

This hallway went from one end of the home to the other. I LOVE old architecture. This home was over three hundred years old!
In the picture below, we are looking out to the original kitchen. They told us that in those days, they built the kitchen separate from the main house because of the possibility of a fire.
Hum! I wonder what THIS was :)
This bathtub was made out of concrete.
This structure below was the "Counting House". They told us that in those days, this was where the owner would count his money and keep up with his transactions.

Soon, it was time to board the ship again. But not before they treated us to a wonderful lunch.
